Why the trial matters
Offering export only on paid plans is a common and revealing choice: it means the export exists to retain you, not to serve you. Being able to get your data out before you have paid anything is the version that means something.
What it does not do
It will not migrate you to another platform. An export is data in a readable form, not an import file shaped for a competitor — moving is still work, and anyone claiming a one-click exit is describing a demo.
